Pick up sticks vs Coding
December 11th, 2001
I’ve decided that Computer Science or at least programming is akin to a recurring game of pick up sticks. You throw the sticks out and you’re trying to get a single marked stick but you can’t move any of the others (Introduce new bugs) Picking up sticks is putting code in order until you can get at the one stick that was your objective.
With good design and forward looking coding you can reduce that number of sticks involved in each game, but it is ultimately a game of pick up sticks.
