Aji-suki-taka-hi-kone is the thunder kami in Japanese/Shinto mythology. He was noisy child and grew up even noisier. They carry him up and down a ladder to keep him quiet, that is why thunder sounds like it recedes and approaches. Also read that as an infant he was no noisy that they had to put him in a boat and sail him around the Japanese islands until he calmed down. Until I can figure out which is more reliable feel free to choose for yourself which is correct.
He is the brother of Takemikazuchi and of Raijin. In adulthood he was the father of Takitsuhiko a rain kami.
